Community Involvement

Green Square Public School has been built on the traditional lands of the Gadigal People and the site of the old South Sydney Hospital. Our connection to Aboriginal history and culture as well as the hospital history place our school at the centre of our community - we are the beating heart of the community. We value and prioritise strong and authentic partnerships with our families and community. Families can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C), Green Square Connects program and by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help to ensure our children flouish in every way possible.

Green Square Connects

Our Green Square Connects program is designed to connect families with all aspects of school life. This will include parent workshops on various topics including learning programs, wellbeing, digital citizenship and much more. A program of events will be published for Green Square Connects each term.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Our P&C is a group of parents, carers and school community members. They assist with school planning, fundraising, events and volunteering. Our P&C works in partnership with our school to foster community connection and voice.

Joining the P&C a great way to meet other families, get involved and contribute to our school's future. We would love to have you on board!

P&C meetings

P&C meetings are held twice a term in Weeks 3 and 7.

Term 4 2025 meeting dates are:

Tuesday 28 October 6:00pm - 7:30pm

Tuesday 25 November 6:00pm - 7:30pm

Meetings will be held on Level 2 North of our school building.

Volunteer at our school

Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your school community.

Volunteer opportunities include:

• getting involved in the P&C
• listening to children read in the classroom
• volunteering on sports days and other school events
